Demesne’s recent electrical trade event at Shamrock Rovers FC was a complete success. “Supporting local” and running the event close to the business was the main intention of the team at Demesne but they also knew that more customers might be persuaded to come along out of curiosity.
“I think the fact that we were holding the event in a very unusual venue was an attraction in and of itself. People were curious to see the set-up at the club. This was also the first time that an electrical event had been held there, so it all worked out very well,” said Ian McLoughlin, Digital Content & Marketing Manager at Demesne.
Every couple of years, Demesne holds its own in-house trade event to promote the various products and ranges the company carries. This year, 21 international exhibitors were in attendance and on hand to demonstrate their products. Over 150 customers came along on the day to see for themselves the impressive ranges that Demesne supplies and to soak up the atmosphere at the unusual venue. Suppliers in attendance at the Demesne event included Schneider Electric, Conta Clip, LAPP Cables, Katko, DEHN UK, Klauke, Martindale Electric, Procure LED, Cosmotec, ILME, Brady UK, Fibox, Delta, Sifam Tinsley, HORA, Telehaase, Zoller & Frohlich, ETA, Stego and Energenie.
A series of seminars were also held over the course of the day. A speaker from the NSAI talked about new wiring regulations for Ireland while Mark Keogh from Schneider Electric discussed the future for AFDD’s (requirements of new wiring rules IS 10101).
Finally, Phil Carey, Northern Business Manager at Dehn UK and member of sub-committee J/PEL64 for BS7671 looked at new surge protection regulations.
“We were actually surprised that so many people were interested in the seminars. Quite often, it’s difficult to get people to commit to staying for the duration of a seminar but each talk was packed, it was standing room only.”
Lunch and refreshments were served during the all-day event and each attendee left with a goodie bag.
