NICEIC, the UK’s largest certification provider for the building services industry is proudly sponsoring SkillELECTRIC 2022.

Showcasing homegrown talent, the competition aims to highlight the skills and knowledge of electrotechnical students and apprentices across the UK.

Forming part of the judging panel NICEIC underlines its commitment to the future of the industry, nurturing talent, technical excellence and raising standards across the board.

NICEIC’s Technical Training Developer and SkillELECTRIC judge, Alex Robinson said: “Having mentored several students through the process in previous years, I have witnessed first-hand how this competition can help a learner develop both technically and on a personal level.

“SkillELECTRIC provides competitors with experiences and opportunities they would not ordinarily have, and it is amazing to see how a young persons’ career and future can be enhanced by getting involved.”

Jennie Phung, NET’s Project Manager for SkillELECTRIC commented on the partnership with NICEIC: “We are delighted to welcome NICEIC as a SkillELECTRIC 2022 sponsor. Having the UK’s leading electrical certification provider onboard is not only a great indication of how prestigious the competition has become, it is also fantastic for the contestants who will benefit directly from interacting with Alex and the NICEIC brand.”

The competition is open to all electrotechnical apprentices, students who are working towards their Level 3 technical qualification, or those who have accomplished Level 3 standard in the past year.

You have until 1, April 2022 to register for SkillELECTRIC via the WorldSkills UK website. All those who register will complete an app-based task against the clock which will be scored and ranked.

The highest scoring competitors from across the UK will be invited to take part in a national qualifying heat.

During May and June, a series of live national qualifying heats will take place across the UK. The top 10 scoring competitors from this stage will be notified by late summer and invited to progress to the UK Final.
