EIC NI announces 2022 fundraisers
Electrical Industries Charity NI is to launch three regional events next year, which will include the popular Electric Lunch in February, A Day at the Races in June with a Corporate Golf Day in September.

EIC NI Chair, Karen McAvoy states, “Watch out for the promotional info as these events will fill up fast. Also, because we had to cancel our fundraisers during the Covid-19 restriction period, the charity is short on funds. We invite anyone who would like to assist in fundraising to please get in touch.”

IEBA call-out for donations
The Irish Electrical Benevolent Association (IEBA) was also forced to cancel its fundraising events, which would normally raise around €60,000 each year to provide help for people in the electrical industry in need of assistance. The charitable organisation has provisionally booked the Intercontinental Hotel for November 19, 2021, to host their Winter Ball, dependent on the Covid-19 position (to be reviewed in late September.) Also, Leopardstown Races has been booked in for March 2022.

Plans are also at the very early stages for a team cycling fund raising event to be held in April/May 2022 – more to follow.

Cel O’Reilly, President of the IEBA repeats his appeal for donations to help shore up that funding hole. He writes, “We are still actively supporting families who need financial help.

“I am fully aware that 2020/21 has been a difficult year for our Electrical Industry, but I would really appreciate your generosity and support for the IEBA Committee at this difficult time.”
