WS Mercer Belfast launches new networking and data division

It is headed up by networking and data specialist, Ruth Munro, and officially known as WS Mercer Datatech. The launch will now see WS Mercer Datatech providing customers with locally held stocks of networking and data products from world leading manufacturers offering a one stop shop for data cables, data points, modules, test equipment, cabinets and active network products right through to Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS). WS Mercer Datatech has the complete solution for any data installation, no matter how big or small.

WS Mercer Datatech’s networking and data specialist, Ruth Munro, along with WS Mercer’s Chris Morrow.

“This is a fast moving sector that requires a specialist service, and we are delighted to be able to offer this,” explained Ruth. “We have combined our attention to detail and high service levels with products from the leading manufacturers in this Sector to provide customers with complete peace of mind when it comes to networking and data equipment.”

The company has created new partnerships with companies including Eaton, Vertiv (formerly Emerson Newtork Power), Scolmore, Connectix, Unitrunk, Premier Cables, Schneider, Marco and MK to name a few. This is enhanced by having a dedicated company specialist in the form of the highly-experienced Ruth Munro, who joined the company from YESSS Electrical.

“While I am based in WS Mercer Belfast, I cover all of Northern Ireland on behalf of the Edmundson group. I’m looking forward to working closely with specialist and contractors to meet their networking and data equipment requirements.”

With everything revolving around data and networking power, the launch of WS Mercer Datatech will provide a valuable service at an idea time. Ruth recognises the way the world is changing with data and networking power becoming a crucial part of any business and now being integrated into new homes!

“You’ll find most new build homes are now being wired with CAT6 cable,” she said. “People want data points in their homes, which will all go back to a cabinet, so it keeps everything in one place! They also want to protect their equipment and can’t afford downtime, therefore want a UPS to keep the WiFi on until the electricity comes back on. It’s the world we live in today, everyone is future proofing!”

The high quality product range and service from WS Mercer Datatech is already making a difference.

“We already have established relationships with a number of data specialists and contractors and are currently working with them on a diverse range of projects,” said Ruth. “I am creating working relationships with consultants to highlight the strength and breadth of the products we have on offer.”

The extensive networking and date cable range from WS Mercer Datatech is available over the trade counter for collection or delivery direct to site. In addition, customers can also work through any one of the Edmundson Electrical branches across the UK and Ireland, allowing WS Mercer to provide direct services to the growing number of contractors working on projects outside Northern Ireland.

“That is an important aspect of our service,” added Ruth. “The quality of our contractors in Northern Ireland is driving the demand for their services across the UK and Ireland and we are perfectly placed to allow them to deal with a local and reliable supply chain here and organise deliveries direct to their sites across the UK and Ireland.
