TESP launch NI electrical training routes

TESP launches recommended training routes for careers in the electrical industry...

TESP recommended training routes.

A series of recommended training routes have been developed by The Electrotechnical Skills Partnership (TESP) to provide clear direction on the right paths to becoming a qualified electrician in Northern Ireland.

Hosted on the Electrical Careers website, the routes are designed to educate school leavers and those looking to upskill within the industry. Recognising that not everyone will be able to secure an apprenticeship place, an alternative route is given for those looking to fund their own skills development, and also those with existing industry experience.

“These routes aim to reduce the confusion around electrical training and promote what is valued by employers and will ultimately lead to qualified status,” said Ruth Devine, Chair of TESP and Managing Director of SJD Electrical.

TESP is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company formed by the ECA, JIB, NET, SELECT and Unite the Union.

The recommended training routes are available on the Electrical Careers website –
