Precision Switchgear & Controls investing in its future with major expansion

Purpose-built office suite and production facilities for Co Tyrone company

We want to be the partner of choice for electrical contractors. That’s the challenge that Co Tyrone company, Precision Switchgear & Controls has set itself as it seeks to build upon a hugely successful first seven years in business.

Although the company is still in its infancy it would be wrong to think it lacks knowledge as the 12-strong team of employees bring a wealth of experience across a number of industries to the table. Precision Switchgear & Controls specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of LV Switchgear and Industrial Automated Control Systems.

“Established in 2012 , our expertise in switchgear and control systems is anchored by our core staff of Electrical Engineers, who have joined Precision over the past few year bringing their knowledge from a wide array of applications and sectors.,” said Precision Technical Manager, Jonny Devine.

“We aim to be regularly specified by consulting engineers to participate in major electrical projects for the UK, European and worldwide markets . “All equipment is manufactured to individual customer’s requirements and we pride ourselves in providing stringent quality procedures, ensuring reliable, cost effective solutions.”

Precision takes great pride in its deep knowledge of its clients’ needs and its ability to provide cost-effective and labour-saving solutions.

“Our staff come from different backgrounds and they all bring that wealth of experience to the table in a collaborative way to find the best solutions for our customers – this is something we take great pride in,” said Jonny.

“We have staff members who have great experience in the food and manufacturing industries but we can really provide the full scope of switchgear and automation projects for everything from quarries to hotels and university buildings.”

The team consists of two design engineers, one PLC Programmer, one workshop manager and eight skilled Panel Builders. It has been a meteoric rise for Precision during the past seven years and the company’s growth has been mainly organic, built on its already excellent reputation and word of mouth from satisfied customers. However the company is ready to move to the next level with the confident step of building a new 8000 sq ft purpose-built office suite and production facilities.

“This is our notice of intent which says we are confident in our future and confident in the future of the industries we support. We want to be the partner of choice for the electrical contracting industry and we will be actively seeking tendering enquiries so we can grow our business,” said Jonny.

“We provide flexible and economic solutions to suit all switchgear and control applications including HV Equipment & Package Sub Stations, Main LV Distribution Switchgear, Sub LV Distribution Switchgear and more. “Our modern design, administration and manufacturing facilities are located in Dungannon giving excellent logistical benefits for projects in the UK and Ireland. Because of our location and immediate access to the motorway network we can be anywhere within Ireland and the UK in less than 24 hours.”

Precision has experience working across a number of sectors including food and drink, building services, energy, municipal water and wastewater, industrial water and effluent treatment, mineral processing and materials handling, factory automation, infrastructure – rail, airports & shipping.

Some of the major projects Precision has been involved in include the Unite Student Accommodation in Liverpool, a mushroom growing, packaging and distribution centre in East Yorkshire, the Hyde Park Ambient Warehouse in Mallusk, Co. Antrim and the Holiday Inn hotel in Manchester.
