Innovations from Ansell Lighting

Broadlands Leisure Broad Lane Essington Wolverhampton WV11 2RJ

So far, it has been a busy start to the year for lighting designer and manufacturer Ansell Lighting. Overseas expansion, a King’s Award for Innovation and, most recently, the launch of its latest product catalogue, S16, with no less than 1,500 new product lines.

Contained in that new brochure is a product the company is extremely excited about. The Ansell’s ever-popular Tornado Evo batten range has been upgraded, with a market-leading specification and an attractive price point.

Suitable for a wide variety of applications, the Tornado EVO is a high-performance LED light capable of delivering a highly efficient 160lm/W.  Power selectable, it offers both high and low output power options and delivers excellent light uniformity thanks to a high transmittance polycarbonate diffuser.

The Tornado EVO features a smart new look, and it is available in three lengths, 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm. A key feature of the upgraded luminaire is a selectable CCT between 4000K, 5000K and 6000K, allowing users to choose their desired lighting hue. For added functionality, a range of additional options, such as OCTO smart controller, digital dimming, corridor function, integral microwave sensor, self-test and DALI emergency versions are also available.

Crucially, the emergency option has been improved so that the whole luminaire illuminates during emergency operations, not just a small area.

The Tornado EVO CCT has been designed with ease of installation in mind and features an innovative spring clip gear tray release. It is also fitted with a Tridonic driver as standard, promises a long L70 54,000 hours LED lifespan and comes with a five-year warranty for added confidence.

The Tornado Evo is a great example of Ansell Lighting’s efforts to reduce the number of unnecessary SKUs across its ranges by adding selectable power and CCT or removing drivers, and therefore supporting the company’s sustainability efforts.

More exciting launches

Another new high-efficiency product is the Disco Evo Bulkhead, which offers up to 145 lm/w. This slim and modern bulkhead is suitable for residential, commercial and industrial applications as well as ancillary areas. It is CCT-selectable between 3000K, 4000K and 6500K and power selectable, offering a choice of three outputs in just one luminaire.

Designed for easy installation, the gear tray is located on the bezel, allowing the base to be installed and then the bezel to be connected. This feature, coupled with four 20mm conduit entry points on the base, ensures a quick and simple installation.

Other highlights of the new S16 catalogue include the new ARX collection of healthcare lighting, which comprises robust bulkheads, liners and cornice fittings, as well as thoughtful anti-ligature fittings.

The new LED-Cell strip collection is the most comprehensive on the market and consists of eight ranges, including COB, dim-to-warm, eco, high-efficiency, single-cut, professional, ultra-long and irregular bend. All of them feature self-adhesive backing and are available in RGBW, RGB, RGBTW and single colour options, as well as IP20 and IP65 ratings.

Commenting on the new launch, Mark Abbott, Managing Director of Ansell Lighting, said, “Our S16 catalogue is crammed full of new products and innovation but, as a business, we are also very conscious of the environment and making life for our customers as easy as possible.

“We have made changes to some products so that we can reduce the number of SKUs we need to ship and that the company and our customers need to hold in stock. For example, we have removed the drivers from our Pace panels so that the end-customer can select the driver they require, rather than Ansell and the wholesaler having to hold multiple versions of Pace with different drivers.

“We are also excited to bring a host of new products to the market, including what we believe to be the most comprehensive LED strip collection available.”

The complete Ansell Lighting product range, including all the new product ranges, can be viewed on the recently relaunched website – www.ansell-lighting.com  including all the specification variations for the new products, dimensions, LED information and product downloads.
