Specialist electrical distributor, HE McMullan & Co Ltd, has opened new premises in Belfast.
The company was formerly based in a rural setting in the Castlereagh hills but has now relocated to the more urban environment of Tamar Commercial Centre.
“We are delighted to be able to take the opportunity to move into the city,” explained Managing Director, Alan McMullan. “There are already a number of electrical businesses in the area and while we have our own vans on the road, it also makes us a lot more accessible to our customers.”
Established by Alan’s father, Harold, in the 1960s, the company has an established reputation for reliability. Working with electrical wholesalers and distributors to supply leading electrical installation products, HE McMullan & Co Ltd has also built up strong relationships with electrical contractors and consultant engineers across the UK and Ireland.
“It is about educating the industry about the products that we have available,” explained Alan. “We have a diverse range of quality products available through electrical wholesalers and distributors, so we find that by helping contractors and consultants understand the benefits of these products means they are more likely to ask for them.”
The company offers solutions for the domestic, commercial and industrial sectors and products range from electrical installation materials such as trunking and conduit, electrical boxes and enclosures, trace heating, pre-filled gel accessories for sealing and protecting electrical connections, addressable call systems and disabled refuge solutions, and lighting connection systems as well as a selection of complementary ancillary products including fuses and labels.
“We work hard to offer simple solutions and work alongside leading manufacturers such as Falcon, Raytech, and Optimum, to name just a few, to provide our customers with quality products,” said Alan. “We have always taken pride in only offering quality and while we recognise we work within a price sensitive market, we do our best to find the balance between quality and price.”
Service is central to everything at HE McMullan & Co Ltd and key to that is stock levels.
“Strong stock levels is vital to our operation and this is an area that we constantly monitor. Our new location makes it easier to access our range, either at our trade counter or through our two vans which make deliveries across the province.
“We also deliver across the UK and Ireland, and this can include direct to a site to meet the needs of a specific project. Our relationship with our manufacturers also means that we can provide access to expert technical support as well.”
