Ordering cable management systems from Core Distribution has just got a whole lot easier thanks to the firm’s investment in a new ecommerce site.
Already live in the Republic of Ireland, the new site will be operational in Northern Ireland in 2024, offering online ordering, offers and technical data across Core’s €2m of stock in its Dublin and Belfast warehouses.
The new site enhances features for Core’s electrical wholesale customers including quick, easy ordering, access to account history and product updates and offers such as buy-10, get-one-free, price break items and Coupon Code discounts.
Non-account holders will be able to access product ranges, technical specifications and video demonstrations.
For design and operation of its new ecommerce site, Core Distribution partnered with Expertlogix and its Aphix software suite. Expertlogix has built e-commerce platforms for electrical distributors, manufacturers and wholesalers across the UK and Ireland.
Two years in the making, the project required changes to Core’s enterprise resource planning system to accommodate the ecommerce platform across the group of companies.
The new software then had to be up and running for six months before a soft launch of ecommerce operations back in July.
Dan Fisher, Managing Director of Core Distribution, said, “We wanted to make sure that we didn’t have issues and problems that could cause delays for our customers, so we selected customers to promote it to in a phased basis.
“This worked well, and we have seen steady growth since that date. Over the next two years, we aim to have the majority of our standard orders come through the site, with project pricing and larger bulk ordering still dealt with in the current manner.”
About 70% of the range is currently on the system, with more products added daily.

Core Distribution expands its Marshall-Tufflex range
Launch of Core Distribution’s new ecommerce site has also made it easier for customers to order and quickly access information on its expanded Marshall-Tufflex range, which includes:
Sterling Prolife rationalisation: To reduce impact on the environment, Core Distribution will be rationalising its 167x50mm PVC-U Sterling Profile trunking and offering Sterling Curve; a newer equivalent of the same size but with a modern curved lid design. This product consolidation will result in improved supply as well as decreasing wastage.
GRP by MT: Glass Reinforced Polyester ladder and tray support systems provide robust yet lightweight cable management for industrial and commercial applications. GRP is a great addition to the Core Distribution cable management offering as the range can be used in applications and environments such as transportation, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and all external applications.
Underfloor to Desk Power: The range includes inscreed trunking systems; Powertrack – standard and clean earth 63A; raised access floor boxes and grommets; power and data modules; and underdesk and desktop modules.
Tufflex Tile: A lightweight Corres pattress tile designed to speed up the installation of electrical products within suspended ceiling installations.
