ECA recruits new members

The ECA in Northern Ireland has been boosted by the addition of a number of new members following an event to showcase what the important work of the association.

Following a members’ initiative, the local ECA team held an awareness evening earlier this year to highlight the work being carried out in Northern Ireland by the ECA to support the electrical contracting industry. Areas discussed at the meeting included skills, training, fair payment, project bank accounts and retentions.

Alfie Watterson, ECA Northern Ireland Regional Manager, stated “The ECA are recognised by Government as the spokesperson for the industry so having a larger membership locally has a greater impact when in discussions with Local Government Representatives.

“The local officers who facilitated this awareness event are to be congratulated for their vision in extending the ECA message to non ECA contractors. Following the event, four major contractors joined the association and there are still applications pending.”

Helen Atkinson, ECA Member Services Director, attended the event and welcomed Dowds Group, Irwin M&E, MDE Installations and P&L Electrics as the new members to the ECA.
