Crown Industries to support IFA at Euro 2016

No such problems for Thomas Fulton, the Crown Industries’ Senior Technical Engineer, who, fresh from his involvement in the National Stadium project at Windsor Park in Belfast, will provide critical IT and Communication Support services for Northern Ireland media, Irish FA staff, players and management on the ground in France.

The Irish FA has commissioned Crown Industries to provide and support a fully functioning wired and wireless solution in the media centre in Saint-Georges-de- Reneins, situated just outside Lyon and to support the network at the players’ hotel in Saint-Jean-d’Ardières.

Craig Stanfield, Operations Manager at the Irish Football Association, sees the services provided by Crown as an integral part of the support team for Euro 2016.

Craig added, “Thomas has been a pleasure to work with throughout the European Qualifiers campaign and, in difficult circumstances due to the ongoing construction work at the stadium, he has been very attentive and supportive of our needs. We engaged with Thomas to ensure we had the correct infrastructure in place and to liaise directly with the various French service providers to ensure we got the best deals for the internet circuits required for our various departments while in France. This gave us the assurance tthat he media, staff and our national team are fully catered for in all areas of IT.“

Regarding the upcoming Euro 2016 finals in France Craig also added, “I had no hesitation in approaching Thomas when I was made aware of our responsibility in providing high quality internet and support services at our media centre and team base camp hotel.”

Commenting on the appointment to support the IFA and playing squad at the European Finals in France, Simon Murray, Strategic Development Director at Crown, lauded the recognition of specialist services expertise in this field and the concept of the added value offering in making this a reality.

“It’s nice to be recognised by the IFA not only for the IP infrastructure works at the new National Stadium, but also as a trusted, technically-competent partner that can provide mission critical support services to the players and staff in France.

“Be it pre-match press conferences, on-site stadium support or post-match analysis and interviews, Crown will be there to ensure that everything runs smoothly. There is such a fantastic buzz around Northern Ireland’s involvement in the tournament and it’s really nice to be involved in supporting our boys in Green. We wish them all every success!”
