Core – Power in Progress with new look and services

This is part of some important changes the ambitious company has recently gone through, including the launch of a new brand identity alongside the development of the company’s services.

In addition to distributing electrical equipment, Core also supports market-leading electrical system solutions for construction projects.

Services, including system design and engineering; project management; installation training; integration and the commissioning of complex building automation systems, enable a more efficient project installation.

Working with consultant engineers, developers, electrical contractors, electrical wholesalers and end clients, Core delivers electrical solutions that not only fit modern environments but assures best practice procedures and reduces installation cost. The company also provides proficient commercial, logistical and technical support through each stage of the project, including pre-tender, on-site and post-installation.

Using modular wiring and flat cable systems in synergy with the company’s expertise in steel containment cable management; underfloor to desk power distribution; lighting control; and emergency lighting systems, Core is able to create unique solutions which drastically improve installation times and reduce costs and waste, saving up to 70% on installation and labour costs. These solutions are also more flexible, easier to expand in line with the client’s needs and compliant with all current electrical and building standards.

Dan Fisher, National Sales Director of Core in the Republic of Ireland, said, “We are the turnkey service provider for the electrical industry across the island of Ireland, providing labour-saving and cost-saving solutions that meet specific requirements. Our motto is to go further and do more to exceed our customers’ expectations.”

Core has successfully specified solutions on time and at optimised costs for many landmark building projects such as Google, LinkedIn, Amazon, Dropbox, Fitbit, Primark, and Belfast Waterfront. Project successes include:

LinkedIn, Dublin.

LINKEDIN, DUBLIN
Core is currently supplying a cutting-edge electrical modular solution for the new LinkedIn building in Dublin city. It is built around a fully pluggable modular wiring system, which integrates the building’s complete general services – HVAC power, lighting, DALI protocol and solar shading system.
Core redesigned and reduced the steel cable containment infrastructure to accompany the modular wiring. Added to that, Core supplied underfloor power distribution and desk power systems which are all supplied pre-wired and fully tested for a plug-and-play system that will achieve up to a 70% labour saving.

T2 DUBLIN AIRPORT

Dublin Airport

For Ireland’s largest modular wiring installation, to date, Core supplied a complete modular wiring system as well as a cable management solution to deliver a faster and more accurate installation. Core used Wieland’s Metalynx Armoured and Gesis GST Standard modular wiring and EIB Bus to increase the speed of the installation with reduced chance of errors. Marshall-Tufflex’s all-curved CAT 6a compliant profile trunking Odyssey was also installed. Tens of thousands of linear metres of Marshall Tufflex Supertube was used in the walls as an alternative to traditional steel conduit.

OMAGH HOSPITAL

Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex.

At Omagh Hospital and Primary Care Complex, Core proved the company’s proficiency in analysing technical issues. Adrian McGarrity, Director of Core in Northern Ireland, explains, “We engineered and supplied an advanced self-addressed emergency lighting solution coupled with a pre-wired modular wiring system, which works independently from the general lighting. This plug-and-play system is easy to install and to reconfigure, and complies with all the current life safety regulations”
The modular design incorporates the use of Wieland plugs and cables, coupled with Woertz master spine flat cables. The lifesaving lighting system is designed with the latest P4 FASTELINK System and self-testing addressable lighting – key to the automatic monitoring and recording process.
