Connectivity for emergency lighting testing

Electric lighting systems designer and manufacturer Ventilux offers a wide range of products compatible with DALI Testing System. DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is an intelligent addressable emergency lighting testing solution. It allows an installation to be supervised, tested, and monitored from a central location.

DALI Connect from Ventilux is a cloud-based emergency lighting testing system with instant connectivity to monitor, report and test emergency luminaires from any location via any smart device. See below why this product is the best option for your electrical installation project.

No rewiring – Rewiring is not required for wireless implementation in existing projects or future extensions. The system works in conjunction with the wired DALI controllers as a mixed system or completed wireless system. This option is ideal for retrofits and the upgrading of emergency lighting in listed buildings due to ease of installation, whilst also eliminating the requirement to rework ceilings.

DALI MESH

DALI Mesh is a self-healing network that routes back to the DALI Control module irrespective of the number of faulty luminaires in the network. The mesh network is far superior to a point-to-point option.

Long-term maintenance Maintenance has become easier for the state-of-the-art cloud software, which offers a full CAD package and remote viewing of full system health from any laptop or mobile device.

Increased luminaire distance

The DALI Connect wireless option incorporates the Zigbee mesh network, which offers a huge increase in distance compared to the wired solution. The Zigbee network can range up to 50m (fitting to fitting) within a building environment and 100m in the open air.

In-depth luminaire analysis

Within the cloud-based reporting software, all luminaires have their own in-depth analysis section, with useful information such as battery charging state, lamp burning hours in emergency and total hours, test timing and emergency status.

DALI Connect in action

Forensic Science Ireland’s (FSI)

Forensic Science Ireland’s (FSI) new laboratory in Backweston campus, Co. Kildare, carried out by OPW is set to be a world-class facility. The goal was to create a sustainable lab that provides the highest energy efficiency possible, thus reducing energy consumption significantly and enabling the laboratory to continue growth and develop forensic science in Ireland.

Ventilux supplied 20 KVA Static Inverter c/w DALI Interface, MultiLux Static Inverter DALI, OptiLens Static Inverter DALI, and Halo Static Inverter DALI.

OPW chose Ventilux Emergency Lighting for the project because of the quality and performance of their luminaires. “They also offer first-class support through their sales team and technical expertise is always available if required,” commented Designer Group Project Manager Kieran Murphy. “I recommend Ventilux because they care about doing right by their customers whilst delivering great products.”

Facebook Headquarters: Fibonacci Square

Ventilux supplied emergency luminaires for the redevelopment of the former AIB Bank Centre site in Ballsbridge, which is the second-largest Facebook campus in the world and the company’s new EMEA HQ. The products provided by Ventilux included Optic Surface Mounted DALI Connect, Skylux DALI Connect, Halo IP65 DALI Connect, Atlantic LED DALI Connect, and MultiLux DALI Connect.

Carl Bermingham, Contracts Manager at main electrical contractor Jones Engineering, calls the team at Ventilux one of his “reliables”. The company has always been prompt and reliable while providing an overarching solution, from initial estimating to design verification, and finally through to commissioning and handover. “Ventilux has always acted proactively ensuring they have necessary stock well in advance,” Carl explained. “They have excellent products both from a performance and aesthetical aspect, and we never have to return to the site for defects.”

Equinix

US Data Centre company Equinix has developed a new €5 million site in Dublin to expand their business. Ventilux supplied the Atlantic DALI Connect range and worked on the conversion of mains luminaires to DALI Connect.

“We would like to thank Ventilux for their continued support throughout this project,” said Emmet Horgan, Contracts Manager at main electrical contractor Jones Engineering. “As always, Ventilux have performed to a high standard and worked closely alongside Jones Engineering to deliver this quality project for our client.”
