In a move that is set to smooth the processes of designers and architects looking to incorporate high-quality lighting into new buildings in as seamless a fashion as possible, Tamlite has confirmed that Building Information Modelling (Level 2) dates files are now available for all of its 2020 products.
Although the concept of BIM has existed since the 1970s, it is during the last ten years that its adoption has accelerated as building professionals have optimised its contribution to streamlining workflow processes. In particular, BIM data can dramatically reduce the danger of different service components conflicting as the design process unfolds – thereby saving vital time and labour.
Designed with an emphasis on energy efficiency, lamp lifespan and aesthetic attractiveness, the Tamlite 2020 range has made a dramatic impact on the professional lighting market since rollout began in 2014. Incorporating a wide range of LED-based products, the 2020 portfolio of products is geared towards the needs of the projects and specifications market, and has been developed to suit the exacting requirements of designers, architects and installers.
The decision to offer BIM files for all 2020 products is in line with the Government’s current strategy for BIM Level 2 to be used across all public sector projects. An increasing number of large commercial companies are making it an essential requirement of their procurement processes, while the adoption of BIM is also being assisted by a joint Government/Industry Working Group, the BIM Task Group, that provides standards, guides and case studies for those looking towards implementation in their projects.
