A fresh approach from AG Electrical

From a standing start four years ago, AG Electrical has quickly made a positive impact on the industry by offering a fresh approach. Established by Adam Gilmore, the central theme to the award-winning philosophy at AG Electrical is a passion for quality and building relationships. Whether it is working closely with clients or the staff he employs, AG Electrical puts the hands on, personal approach at the top of the agenda alongside the need to deliver high quality installations.

This philosophy has seen the AG Electrical brand become recognised as a leader in the local market, with plans in place for an expansion into the UK and Irish markets as well as the opening of new offices.

Developing a quality focused company delivering end-to- end customer satisfaction, AG Electrical offers and delivers what the company’s customer base requires.

“It required a lot of hard work in the beginning, with early morning and late nights bringing little in return. But we always had confidence that we could make this a success and we are really starting to see the benefits of all that effort,” explained Adam. “What we have said from the very start is that we want to work closely with people and make sure we meet their needs. We don’t want to be a company that installs a system and then that’s it. We want to earn their trust and enjoy repeat business.”

That’s already proving successful, with repeat business and word of mouth recommendation a key driver to AG Electrical’s work over the last four years. Another important aspect has been the versatility of AG Electrical, with contracts from leading industry names ranging from Mash Direct to the Merchant Hotel.

“From a complete electrical installation of a hotel or a new residential development through to wiring motor control panels on industrial machines, our core ethos of delivering value without compromising quality is maintained,” added Adam. The company has already received a number of plaudits, with Adam named in a 40 under 40 business leaders’ list, and AG Electrical winning the Best Business Start-Up Award 2018 at the Aer Lingus TakeOff Foundation Business Awards and being shortlisted at Northern Ireland’s Electrical Awards 2018.

Adam added, “As a Christian, the values my faith have instilled in me have had a massive impact on how I personally conduct myself. Treat others how you would like to be treated and being honest, no matter what, means you will get respect from employees and customers. That is central to how we work with everyone and it is proving to be popular.

“Any success is down to everyone in the team. We’ve grown quite quickly and now have 20 staff, all with different skills, experience and knowledge. It’s about having the right people in the right places and everyone pulls in the same direction and has the same mindset. “We keep everything in- house, as this means we can control the quality. From original designs and estimations through to installation, commissioning and maintenance, we offer a complete service.”

Adam added, “It’s been a hard few years, but we’re seeing that hard work pay off now and we’re excited about our expansion plans for Great Britain and Ireland and our new offices.”

Versatility is the key to success for AG Electrical

Every job offers different challenges but AG Electrical delivers one constant – quality. The award-winning electrical contractor has become hugely successful in two major sectors – leisure and hospitality and agri-food.

“The hotel and bar scene in Belfast is massive at the moment and every client wants a different look and a different approach,” explained Adam Gilmore, Managing Director. “We’re in tune with this and work closely with the interior designers to help turn their ideas into reality. For example, we can provide eye-catching lighting systems and can even offer bespoke lighting that really sets a bar or hotel apart.”

He added, “The agri-food sector is very different but requires the same attention to detail. Mash Direct is a real success story in this sector and we’re delighted to have a strong working relationship with them. That has helped us build a strong reputation on this sector for our quality. “The residential sector is also growing and we’re about to start work on a new development near our offices in Comber. This versatility is important, but no matter what the project, we offer the same high standards.”

Recent projects have included:

BULLITT HOTEL, BELFAST – Completion of the full electrical installation for the hotel including all the electrical services within the building and design and manufacture of the bespoke lighting within the rooftop Babel restaurant.

EDM SPANWALL, BELFAST – Design and installation of the re alarm within the new factory machinery workshops. This involved working around their robotic machines and ensuring all design designs complied with the regulations for these machines.

BEANNCHOR GROUP – Maintenance contract for the hospitality chain. Maintaining and improving the electrical installations, ensuring work ow and productivity is kept up at all times for the restaurants, hotels and nightclubs.

MASH DIRECT – Food production factory electrical installations, including new factory extensions, maintenance and panel building.

“We love a challenge and our expert team are constantly working hard to improve their own skills and knowledge to provide our customers with the latest, innovative solutions,” concluded Adam.
